Macca’s has just dropped an “exciting” announcement for fans of the fast-food giant – it’s releasing a range of Super Mario Bros toys.
The limited-edition item is now available as part of the burger chain’s popular Happy Meals to celebrate the upcoming movie – despite the fact it’s not out in cinemas until the end of March next year.
However, animation fans can get in the mood for the “highly-anticipated” flick by collecting 12 different toys, each made from 100 per cent renewable materials.
“Following the announcement that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is coming to the big screen, we are thrilled to bring back Super Mario toys to Macca’s Happy Meals,” David Morris, McDonald’s Australia’s brand manager, said.
“With twelve fan-favourite characters to collect, the new Happy Meal toys will be packed full of fun for the whole family to enjoy.”
Figurines available to collect include popular sidekick Luigi as well as leader of the Koopa race, Bowser.
There’s also more complex figures like Mario and Luigi’s plumbing van or Donkey Kong’s racing kart.

The “exciting” announcement comes hot on the heels of McDonald’s recent summer menu which included the release of the Cajun Chicken Deluxe, a new twist on the popular burger, featuring the highly requested addition of the fast-food outlet’s spicy limited-edition sauce.
The burger joint is also bringing back two “fan favourites”, the El Maco and the Cheesy Jalapeño Pops.
The limited-edition Happy Meal featuring The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be available in Macca’s restaurants nationwide, via the MyMacca’s App and McDelivery, from Thursday, December 15 until Wednesday, January 25 or while stocks last.
